Bureau for Investments and Economic Cycles is a private institution specializing in macroeconomic analysis of the Polish economy. The company's activity is based on more then 20 years of its founders' and owners' experience in the area of tracking, forecasting, and researching business cycles and performance of individual companies. The results of BIEC analysis are delivered to individual recipients as well as published in major newspapers and internet portals.

Maria Biec Ph.D. supervises works on all economic indexes and reports published by Bureau for Investments and Economic Cycles (Leading and Coincident Indexes for Poland, Leading Index for Inflation, Future Unemployment Rate Index, and Help Wanted Index - in cooperation with Institute of Economics UITE and "Agora"). She received her doctorate from Warsaw School of Economics, published books on business cycle tracking techniques, more then 300 press articles, and more then 60 scientific articles. She cooperates with Center for International Research on Economic Tendency (CIRET) in Zurich, and, participates in worldwide survey on economic tendencies in the World by Institut fur Wirtschaftforschung (IFO) in Munich. She is Senior Research Associate in Foundation for International Business and Economic Research, New York and professor of Warsaw School of Economics.


FREE is a non-partisan think-tank devoted to developing future oriented, liberal economic policies in the field of: Public finance, Labor market, Energy sector regulation, Education, Health care, Financial sector regulation, Public administration management, International policy.

The mission of FREE is to build a strong network of professionals and experts sharing the same vision of further reforms that should be implemented in Poland.

We group currently over 200 best educated and most perspective professionals, having simultaneously strong link to over a dozen of significant NGOs engaged in the reform planning process. Through this wide network of individuals and organizations we manage to build consensus over our ideas as well as we enjoy a significant pressing power. We cooperate closely with public institutions. FREE is active in Warsaw, Cracow, Lodz and abroad in Brussels, London, Kiev.


e-Finance is on-line financial quarterly (www.e-finanse.com) produced by the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, Poland.

We publish articles covering a wide range of financial topics, including issues related to business finance, public finance, insurance, banking, accounting, capital markets and the legal aspects of financial enterprise management.

The quarterly's Programme Council and Editorial Board were established September 24, 2004 during a meeting of the National Central Bank of Poland in Warsaw, with the participation of President Leszek Balcerowicz.
